Pastoral care

Lead Deputy Head, Mr Kerry Lord, has overall responsibility for pastoral care. However, the following staff will also be responsible for pastoral care as follows:

  • Pre-prep: Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 – Mrs Elizabeth Glanvill (Head of Pre-prep)
  • Lower School: Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5 – Mrs Lucy Ball (Head of Lower School & Deputy Head Teaching & Learning)
  • Upper School: Year 6, Year 7 and Year 8 – Mrs Emma Tyson (Joint Head of Upper School & Director of Studies) / Ms Claire Smith (Joint Head of Upper School & Director of Learning Success)

We believe that the welfare and happiness of our pupils are central to their ability to develop as confident learners and as future leaders in society. For this reason, there is no higher priority than the provision of excellent pastoral care here at St. Peter’s.

The tutor is the first point of contact between parents and school. Tutors monitor the social, physical, intellectual and emotional progress of their children, liaising as necessary with parents, individual staff or the whole staff body to ensure that their needs are being met.

Through meticulous planning and attention to detail, our pupils also benefit from a wide range of extra-curricular activities beyond the school gates.
