For New Pupils: Settling In
My First Day at St Peter's

"I arrived at the reception of St Peter's School on Wednesday 5 January 2011 at 8.30am. I was feeling very excited, after waiting for a short while I was met by Darcey Stonecliffe who was going to be my Guardian for the day and who also would be in the same class as me.

First of all, Darcey showed me to our classroom where I met my new form teacher Mrs Tyson. I was then introduced by Mrs Tyson to my new classmates. Everyone seemed very polite and made me feel very welcome.

It was then time for lessons, Darcey came with me to my first lesson which was Maths, and I really like Maths. Darcey introduced me to my teacher, Miss Cox.

As the day went on, at each lesson I was introduced to each subject teacher. Mr Pritch, Mr Lord, Mr Ottley and Mrs Stone, they were all very friendly and made me feel very welcome.

Lunchtime was great, I have always had packed lunch at my old school as they didn't provide cooked lunches, so this was a real treat.

In the afternoon, we went by coach to Exeter School to play a training netball match, my position was wing attack, it was good fun. We returned to school later that afternoon and got ready to go home. I felt quite settled into my new surroundings even after only one day.

To sum my first day up – I had a really good day, met some very nice people, pupils and teachers and I can't wait to get fully involved in music and sport – I enjoy a challenge.

I had a very enjoyable day and I couldn't wait for the next one!"
