"In Year 8 there are plenty of things to enjoy, like getting the Common Room and being able to chill out there at break times. You also get to go on plenty of tours like the Ski Trip and the trip to Cornwall where you get to try out surfing. There are also sessions with Spirit of Adventure which are great fun. Having Mr Ball and Mr Pritchard as tutors is great. You have to do different jobs each day, like making sure that the changing rooms are tidy, controlling the lunch queue and break duty. You also have to work really hard to achieve what you want to, but if you are organised then I’m sure that you will be fine. Year 8 is a fantastic year, and I’m sure that when you are in Year 8 you will enjoy it too."
"Year 8 is the best year in the school because you get involved in a lot more trips and experiences than in previous years. Being the oldest pupils in the school, it is a good opportunity to learn about responsibility. You also get to lead by example if you are appointed Head Boy, which is a very good way to learn about dealing with different people. The trips are great fun and give us the opportunity to visit lots of different places, such as Buckfast Abbey. The teachers are really supportive, and if there is something you do not understand in class they will go over it with you. This is one of the main benefits of having small class sizes. Overall I am enjoying my time in Year 8 so far and look forward to the challenges that lie ahead."
