November 2011 Amaaazing! The newly refurbished boarding house looks awesome. It’s a much more homely atmosphere and the new bunks have space to put personal stuff so it still looks tidy and up to Matrons’ and the Houseparents’ standards! Separate rec room with a pool table (cool) plus a snug telly room means there’s now plenty going on and we don’t need to go far to find something interesting to do. We still managed to get out and about last half term; we’ve been to the beach, hit some golf balls, kicked the can and ran around Woodbury Castle. It’s been getting dark so we’ll be up at the sports hall a bit more, but we are still looking forward to some excursions leading up to Christmas.
June 2011 This term in the Boarding House has been great. We have done lots of brilliant activities such as rock climbing, beach trips and water fights. Thank you to Tom and Alix, our Houseparents, for arranging such fantastic activities. The teas (which Jude cooks) and breakfasts (which Liz cooks) have been wonderful. We all thank you very much. Throughout our exams Alix sat and revised with us, which gave us a lot more confidence as she always told us to be positive, that we could do it and not to panic! It was a great help to us and helped us pass our exams.
May 2011 The first half of term has sped by at such a pace that only now are we able to take a pause and reflect on what we’ve been up to. We spent a lot of time preparing for our Boarders’ Charity Breakfast, which was a great success and raised over £150 for Hope HIV and the Masaka School, a boarding school in Uganda for children with hearing and sight impairments. There was a steady flow of custom, we all had our tasks, meet and greet, order taking and playing waiter and felt very proud of our accomplishments.
We’ve spent a lot of time outdoors enjoying the weather, playing in the grounds and going out on activities. The climbing wall at Haven Banks was great fun, and we have more activities with them to look forward to including sailing and kayaking. Half-term is almost upon us and then only five weeks until the summer hols…where has the year gone?
March 2011 The dark nights at St Peter's have limited the activities the boarders have been able to get up to...or have they? A theatre trip early on in the term to see The Little Prince at the Bike Shed Theatre; improving their culinary skills with a bit of cake making; the girls enjoyed a night out at a Chinese while the boys chose fish and chips on a festoon lit sea front. The usual movie nights coupled with plenty of opportunity to let off steam with a run around the sports hall or a chill in the house have kept the boarders thoroughly entertained. We had to postpone our charity breakfast, but we have a date ready for the Trinity Term - Wednesday 11th May - the proceeds will go to HopeHIV who support the Masaka School (Kampala, Uganda) a boarding school for orphaned and vulnerable children with severe hearing and speech impairment. A lot done this term and a lot to look forward to. Caving tonight...Tom said he'll try not to lose anyone!!
November 2010 Before the half term break we did pumpkin carving. We did lots of different designs and faces - it was loads of fun. At the end of the night we put them next to the BBQ, lit them and Tom took a picture - it looked really good!!! Last week all the boarders went ten-pin bowling and we all had a great time!!! Owen and I played in the arcade section. The arcade was great fun, we were practising the shooting games and Mario cart racing; it was a lot of fun!!! I bought a packet of Starburst.
In the boarding house meeting we talked about what sort of fund raising ideas we could use. We were split into two groups - Amelia and I were in the same group, as well as Jake, Guy and Luke. We came up with a coffee morning, having a skipping rope marathon and a kissing booth, which was appealing to me!!! We also came up with an eggathon, hijack the teacher and job auction which Amelia thought of. It was a great night and we all enjoyed ourselves.

October 2010 In the boarding house there are a lot of activities to do, and we get along really well which makes the evenings even better. Alex and I especially love kayaking because it’s great fun to play games in the water. We've been crabbing and mug painting, and there have also been trips to the beach.
This term we have had a new breakfast cook, Liz, and all her food is very tasty.
