For New Parents: Tours
Warwick, London & Oxford 2009

Day 1: Thursday 15th October

On Tuesday 15th October the Alice production left school at 7:30am to go to Princethorpe College, Warwick for our first performance. When we got there we had lunch before getting changed and doing our make-up. Once we were ready we performed parts of the play to the school. When we had finished we changed and then got back on the coach to go to our hotel. In the hotel we unpacked and then walked to the Porridge Pot for our evening meal. It was a roast dinner followed by sponge or ice-cream. Then we returned to the hotel to go to bed.

Day 2: Friday 16th October

We woke up and had breakfast at 9 o'clock. Then we walked to Warwick Castle. We were given a tour of the castle which was really interesting, the models were also really realistic. After lunch we watched a birds demonstration and walked up to the top of the castle which was really amazing because in the tower there were grates looking down below which we stood on.

On our way back we stopped at a park to run around and then we walked to Pizza Express to eat. When we had finished eating we walked back to the hotel.

Day 3: Saturday 17th October

Today we woke up and ate before going to London on the coach. In London we had lunch at Planet Hollywood and then went to the London Eye where we watched a 4d documentary about the London Eye. We then went on the London Eye. After that we went back to the hotel to get changed as we were going back in to London later. In London we ate our packed teas sitting on a pavement (we were offered Pimms by two men passing by) before going to watch the Lion King. This was amazing and by the end we were all shattered so we went back to the hotel to sleep. Unfortunately we were woken up in the middle of the night by a fire alarm which was not what we needed!

Day 4: Sunday 18th October

This morning we had breakfast and then went on a tour of the Globe Theatre which was really interesting. Then we went and did some retail therapy in Hamley's before going to lunch at Cheun Cheng Ku in China Town. After lunch we went to a science museum to look at the Wallace and Gromit exhibition which was really fun. Finally we went to Oxford, ate and went to our new rooms in a youth hostel where we had another fire alarm!

Day 5: Monday 19th October

Today we woke up and had breakfast and then went to Christchurch Cathedral School to perform some of the play to the younger pupils. Next we had lunch at the school before going to a meadow to run around. After this we went to the College and had a tour of the cathedral and the hall (which is where they filmed the Harry Potter dining room). We were then given the choice to do more shopping or go to the youth hostel. When we were all at the youth hostel we walked to the Big Bang for our evening meal. Then we returned to the youth hostel.

Day 6: Tuesday 20th October

On our final day we packed our stuff and went to the Pitts River Museum where we did various activities and looked around. We spent the morning there and then we walked to Nando's for our lunch. When we had finished we got the bus to take us to the North Wall theatre where we practised the whole performance before having our packed tea. When we had eaten we put our make up on and got ready for our final performance, to our family and friends. The performance went really well and it was the only time we performed the whole production. We were really happy of how our final performance went.

We would like to say thank you to all the teachers that helped and also say thank you especially to Mrs Rhodes.
