Nurturing academic excellence for future leaders

Exceptional Achievements

St Peter’s Preparatory School is non-selective yet, in 2024, 44% of our Year 8 pupils were offered places at academically selective Exeter School with one achieving an Academic Scholarship and another a Sports Scholarship. A further 50% of Year 8 leavers secured places at Wellington School, with 50% of these being offered scholarships.

Our 2024 Year 8 leavers were also offered senior school places at Blundell’s School with a Sports Scholarship, Bryanston School, Queen’s College with a Drama Scholarship, Stover and Taunton School with an Academic Scholarship and with Sports Scholarships.

The majority of our pupils leave us at Year 8; however, we do have other leaving transition points, when pupils join academically selective schools such as Colyton Grammar School.

Children at St Peter’s study the following subjects: Art & Design, Drama, English, French, Games & physical education, Geography, History, Information & communications technology, Mathematics, Music, Personal, social, health & citizenship education, Religion & philosophy, Science and Spanish.

Children are given the opportunity to learn in a variety of ways: through exploration and research; to break down subject boundaries and to acquire a mix of knowledge and skills.
