Inspection Reports
St
Peter’s has undergone a number of inspections in recent years. A full Ofsted inspection was carried out in
October 2002 by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI), and an Ofsted
inspection of our nursery facilities was undertaken in January 2005. The
Commission for Social Care Inspection carried out an inspection in the form of
a consultation with our boarders in November 2004. During the day, they asked our
pupils if they were happy and how they well were cared for. The summary of their
findings is below.
The summary findings were:
Full
Inspection – “St Peter’s is a very good
school which provides a high quality of education and excellent standards of
care to both boarding and day pupils. It
has a distinctive family ethos and strong sense of community, created by
dedicated and hard-working staff. In this community, pupils develop to their
potential in most attractive surroundings, where they enjoy their learning to
the full”.

Boarding
Inspection - “The standards in this school are very high. In this inspection, six standards were exceeded....this is an exceptional achievement. The school excels in preparing children for their next school through the Leavers' Programme and providing a high quality 6-part course on Team Building and Leadership for senior pupils. The relationships between staff and pupils are exceptionally good. Every aspect of the school regime is aimed at helping children to become happy, fulfilled and useful members of society and the strength of their relationships with staff is clearly an important part of this work. The school considers a healthy diet and lots of exercise to be of the utmost importance. Boarders have a good choice of activities both indoors and outdoors”.
