Choosing a school is one of the most important and significant things we do for our children.   Here at St Peter's School we understand that your child's foundation years are crucial, as they are spent developing the skills, knowledge and values which will serve them well for the rest of their lives.

Welcome To St. Peter's

Charlotte Johnston

An introduction...

A very warm welcome to St. Peter's School Lympstone. A traditional, yet progressive prep school for children aged 3 up to 13, ‘Traditional’ in our emphasis on values such as courtesy, consideration and common sense, the historic setting of the school, our beautiful buildings and our extensive grounds:

• two adventure playgrounds

• a swimming pool

• astro for hockey and netball

• four rugby and

• two cricket pitches

• our own woodland

‘Progressive’ in that all children have access to the latest IT equipment using google classroom and flipped learning in an innovative, forward thinking curriculum which focuses on the development of academic learning as well as their personal skills and qualities.  St. Peter’s children benefit from outstanding teaching in small class sizes where children of all abilities have the individual attention they need to enable exceptional achievement and challenge.  Pupils gain 100% success rate of entry to their chosen Senior Schools and many leave us with Scholarships in Academics, Art, Sport, Music or Drama.

St. Peter’s is extremely well located.  Half an hour from central Exeter and the airport with new, fast rail and flights to central London, yet ten minutes from the beach and close to the beauty of Dartmoor, the children benefit from the freedom of growing up in this area of outstanding natural beauty.  Horseriding and learning to Sail are part of the activity programme and children spend time adventuring on Woodbury Common, ringoing on the estuary and Kayaking on local waters as well as attending our own Beach School and Forest School.  Prospective pupils and parents are welcome to come and see the school in action at any time, please call 01395 272148 to make an appointment for a tour and to meet the Head Charlotte Johnston.  Scholarships at 7+ and 11+ and bursaries are available.
