Nursery/Reception
Knowledge & Understanding of the World
This area of learning in the Nursery develops
children’s knowledge and understanding of the world and forms the foundation for
future lessons in science, history, geography and IT.
The children in Reception will be developing
crucial knowledge, skills and understanding of how to make sense of the world
through class trips, ‘hands-on’ experiences and exploratory activities. As in the Nursery, this forms the foundation
for later work in Science, Design Technology, History, Geography and ICT.
