For New Parents: How the Children Learn: Nursery/Reception
Creative Development

Many creative activities fall within Creative Development including Music, Dance, Art, Craft and Imaginative play, using the home corner where we learn to cook and encourage the use of the five senses by imaginative role-play and movement.  There are opportunities to paint using a variety of different resources and make musical instruments and hats and create animals such as hedgehogs from clay.  We have sand and water play every day and there is access to the class computer where the children learn new techniques.

There are opportunities for the children to explore their own ideas through a wide range of types of representation. Our Music lessons are taught by a Music specialist twice a week and all pre-prep children participate in singing activities on a weekly basis. The creative aspect of the foundation stage is one that is vital for the children to develop their skills of self expression.
