Victory for St Peter's pupils at County Schools Squash Championships

In last week's Devon Junior Schools Squash Championships, St Peter's School was represented by 13 of its pupils who dominated the tournament taking the top five places. Lyell Fuller, Year 5,  who is currently the Devon U11 Champion, secured victory in the competition by beating Joe Pyne, also Year 5. Joe won through to the final by beating fellow pupil Ben Hancock (Year 6) 15-14 in the semi final.  To achieve his third place, Ben had to beat another year 5 pupil Richard Harvey who finished fourth.

Youngster Jamie Telford (Year 3) has much improved his game over recent months and played very confidently to beat his opponent in a marvellous fifth/sixth-place play-off.

Ben French, Jamie Farmer and Jack Dee-Shapland, all Year 6 pupils, played some great games to finish 8th, 10th and 13th respectively.

Squash Coach Mike Densham was thoroughly delighted by the team's excellent performance and is looking forward to the boys' continuing success, with, hopefully, some more medals to be won.

Our congratulations go to all the boys for their magnificent performances.
