The heat was on for the London Tri

Our Headmaster, Rob Williams, competed in this year's London Triathlon on Sunday, 6 August to raise money for the South West Multiple Sclerosis Centre and Diabetes UK.  This is the biggest Tri event in the world with some 10,000 entrants competing over the weekend.

Rob took part in the Men's Open Olympic, his first event in this category, comprising 1.5km swim, 40km cycle finishing off with a 10km run.  He trained very hard over the last year, but nothing could prepare him for the blistering heat on the day.  However, some dogged determination, not to mention quite a few litres of water, and some good performances in the swimming and cycling stages saw him finish in a time of 2hrs 39mins, with which he was quite rightly pleased. He has now set his sights on reducing his time to under 2hrs 30mins in next year's event.

Thank you to all those who sponsored Rob.  If you would still like to make a donation, there is still time!  Send cheques made payable to St Peter's School.  We will be totting up the totals and letting everyone know the outcome in the next couple of weeks.
