It's a bit of a squash!

At the U13 Inter-County Tournament in Cheltenham on Sunday, 5 November, all of the players representing Devon were pupils at St Peter’s School: Lyell.Fuller, Joe Pyne, Ben Hancock, Richard Harvey and Ben French.  In the first qualifying round, between Gloucester, Dorset, Avon and Devon, the St Peter’s team won through.   If this talented young squad continues successfully through its next qualifying match, they have the opportunity to compete amongst the top four in the country later this year.

Not to be overshadowed by the success of the older team, the U11 squad are showing every sign of following in the senior’s glory.  At the South West League competing against other counties throughout the region, the UII side won 4 out of 5 of their matches.

‘I’m obviously absolutely thrilled for all of them’, commented Mike Densham, professional coach and instructor at St Peter’s. ‘These boys are playing out of their skins, it’s marvellous to watch.  Both teams are playing superb squash, with one or two putting in particularly stunning performances. They have every chance of playing at a professional level.’
