"Commando Challenge" staff get down and dirty!

9 members of staff competed in this year's Commando Challenge on Woodbury Common.

The event, which was launched in November 1990, was the first ever 3 mile ENDURANCE charity event staged on the Royal Marines training course on Woodbury Common (omitting the 4 mile road run back to CTCRM).  It Attracted 80 participants and raised £3,000 for Exeter based charity HOSPISCARE.  It was also first ever use of this famous course to raise money for charity.  There are now over 4000 runners over the 2 days, with approximately 2000 applicants being refused entry.  The event organisers hope to raise in excess of £180,000 this year.

The St Peter's team, made up of Headmaster, Rob Williams, female staff Sian Close, Sandie Trelease, Lesley Sydenham, Jane Cooke, Emma Tyson, and male staff Chris Ball, Churston Cunliffe, Paul Lawton and David Roberts completed the 3 mile course without too many hitches on Saturday, 13 October and raised over £300 in so doing.
