Well done to Simon Ames (Year 8) who finished 6th in the South West U14 Junior Fencing Championships last weekend. This was a qualifying event for the British Junior U14 Championships, and Simon narrowly missed qualification, losing to the eventual winner, having put up a fierce fight. This was his first appearance at this age level and he acquitted himself extremely well, gaining valuable experience for next year's event when he will be competing against fencers of his own age.
