Welcome to our Boarding House!
Welcome to the boarding section of St Peter's School website. We hope that you will find the following pages useful and interesting to you and your children.
Lucy and I took over the boarding house as house parents in September 2006. With a small number of boarders, it is easy to recreate a very homely- feel, in a safe environment which allows freedom and the opportunity to take on responsibility. The children have very much appreciated the sense of fun and belonging. They have also been able to cement friendships made during the school hours. A wide variety of activities are offered each term from indoor games, cookery, horse-riding to visits to the cinema, theatre, the local beach (summer term) and bingo/karaoke nights. However, children are also encouraged to relax and switch off, sometimes on their own, at the end of what is usually an action-packed school day.
The dormitories are brightly furnished, all of them are themed, and children are encouraged to bring in photos and other reminders of home. We currently have an impressive collection of teddy bears!

The following are some comments from the recent questionnaire that we sent out to parents of current boarders: 'We are very happy with the Boarding facility, it is a great help during the week...I know my child is enjoying themselves in a safe, fun place and does not have a long journey home...' 'The food at St.Peters has always been fantastic ...' 'Both our children try more selection of foods than a year ago.' 'Boarding staff are approachable, friendly and kind.' 'We like being able to phone and chat post-school hours ... Matron has eased many a mum worry!'
